Hello Everyone!!!
Happy Stampede!!!! Yesterday, Craig, Hannah and I took part in our first Stampede tradition...the pancake breakfast. Each year, businesses, malls, and organizations host pancake breakfasts all over town. This year, we were invited to three...one at SYSCO, one at our realtor's business, and one here in McKenzie Towne. Yesterday was SYSCO's breakfast...we had a great time! Craig took these photos while they were setting up. They figure that they served breakfast to a few hundred people...some of the larger ones can get as big as 60,000!!!!!!!! That's a whole lot of flap-jacks!!! SYSCO's was cool, because they had a country band...Hannah loved all of the music and people.

Afterwards, Craig took a few minutes to teach Hannah the finer points of a refrigeration unit on trailer...you know, one of life's essentials...heehee!!!

I love this photo of them!!!

Afterwards, we decided to go for a drive through the mountains. It was so beautiful outside!!!! This was on the Trans-Canada Highway...
Then we detoured off to drive through Kananaskis Country...we've been wanting to head down this way to see some different scenery.
The mountains were beautiful!
Highwood Pass is the highest place in Canada that you can drive with your car...pretty cool, huh??

We made sure to take some photos of the wildlife we saw. We were hoping to spot some bears or Rocky Mountain Sheep, but all we saw were lots of deer...
...and a bunch of prairie dogs.
We also saw lots of cattle and wild horses, but we didn't get any photos of them...oh well. There's always next time.
Here are some more mountain photos...

So, that's how we spent our Saturday. Today we're going to work around the house and then go for a walk. I guess we should probably throw in a trip to the grocery store too...the cabinets are pretty bare! I'll try to post more this week...otherwise, my next post will be from when Fred is here!!!! Only a few more days...YAY!!!!!!!
I hope you all had a great weekend...
Love,
~Sharon~
