Day Two: The Calgary Tower and Downtown

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Hello Everyone!!!

I am splitting up the last few days of our vacation with Fred...there are too many photos to post all at once...so, here's what we did on Sunday...
We slept in a bit, so we knew that we wouldn't make it to the zoo as planned...so we headed first to the Devonian Gardens...
Fred tried to make friends with the "locals"...

And of course we had to stop for a photo-op...

Then it was off to the Calgary Tower...no visit to the city is complete without it!!!

It was neat seeing the Stampede grounds from above...

...and Hannah took some time to practice her walking...525 feet up!!!

Once at the bottom, we played tourists and took some group photos...

Once we were outside, things got interesting. I looked over at a guy walking by who looked VERY familiar. Suddenly, it occurred to me that it was Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister!! They were in town for a concert, and after chasing him around Downtown, we snapped a few close-ups...he was having a meal with his guitar player.

The day was too nice...I had to snap some city photos...
Afterwards, we took the long way home and stopped at Olympic Park...we finished the day off with a great BBQ dinner...
All in all, it was a great day!!!!
Love,
~Sharon~
