Last Weekend's Update

Hello All-
Sorry for all of the posts today...I am just trying to get caught up while Hannah naps.
Last weekend we decided to enjoy the warmer weather and get out of the house. Saturday we headed over to the Calgary Farmer's Market. It was packed and a bit overwhelming, so we grabbed some of Hannah' favorite Morning Glory muffins, and a pint of blueberries, and headed over to Olympic Park.
You never know what you will stumble upon at Olympic Park. Starting way back before we moved to Calgary, we fell upon the Skeleton time trials for several countries, last weekend we bundled up and saw the Bobsled competition, and this past weekend, we heard that there was going to be a Freestyle Skiing Competition.
Well, we missed the competition, but we did make the most of our visit. We headed up the access road to the 90 meter ski jump tower. We had been told that you could go up in the tower, but we never looked into it. So, guess where we headed...
The guy who ran the desk at the bottom was great! Even though you normally have to pay, he let us in for free!!! Hannah loved the tower. They had a mock up to show you the angle that the jumpers are at...Hannah thought this was the coolest thing ever!!

You could also go outside on the observation deck. In the summer they have a zip line that sends you all the way down...I'm anxious to try bobsledding, but I'm not so sure about the zip line...we'll see.
This is the view from the top. You'll see the area that doesn't have much snow, right in the middle of the photo...that's where the spectator stands used to be.

This photo shows where the Freestyle Skiers were competing.

I think Hannah was ready for a nap when I took this photo...

But she perked up quickly to check out the skis they had on display. There is a mini-museum at the top of the tower.
So, another fun-filled day for us!!! Sunday we were lazy and lounged around the house. Nothing too exciting to report there...
Cheers!!!
Sharon
